about the artist




Nature Shankar (@softslabs) is a Singapore-based visual artist. Through the notions of emotional care, she investigates casual racism, sexism, and homophobia’s effect on one’s ability to contextualise existence in its raw uncertainty. Her works have been exhibited at The Hive Gallery and Studios (2018, Los Angeles), Gajah Gallery (2018, Yogyakarta), and C on Temporary (2020, Bandung). She has participated in residencies at ChaNorth by ChaShama (New York, New York), OH! Open House (Singapore), and Studio Batur (Bandung, Indonesia). She co-founded and runs the virtual art platform Our Softest Hour (@our.softest.hour) and currently curates for the art spaces at SPRMRKT. natureshankar.com
